Akara Materials Testing Laboratory (P) Ltd. (AMTEL) has been established in April 2008 with a view to providing prompt, excellent and professional services in the fields of geo-technical engineering and soil exploration, testing of construction materials and quality control services in building and civil engineering works. Within a short span of time, AMTEL has undertaken a number of jobs especially in soil investigation and advising on the type of foundation including pile.

Civil engineering construction works such as airports, apartment and buildings bridges, commercial and industrial complexes, dams, highways, irrigation system, transmission lines, tunnels, urban roads and flyovers and water and sewerage treatment plants are integral parts of infrastructure development of a nation.

Works subjected to quality control tests on construction materials and workmanship should conform to specified standards and design requirements. Investigation of the subsoil strata also forms an integral part of engineering design and consulting services. It is expected that, in the coming years, many civil engineering construction works related to the basic infrastructure development such as those described above will be emerging as the country marches forward.
